Guide to Using Bluetooth and Audio Features on Your Chigee Device
The Chigee AIO-5 Lite and AIO-5 Play models offer robust functionality for audio and Bluetooth connectivity, designed to keep riders informed and entertained on the road.
However, due to specific system configurations, some users may have questions about Bluetooth pairing, headset compatibility, audio playback, and voice control.
In this guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know to set up and optimize your audio experience with the AIO-5 series.
Connecting Your Bluetooth Headset to AIO-5 Lite/Play
One of the most common questions we receive is “Does the AIO-5 Connect Directly to Motorcycle Headsets?”
The AIO-5 Lite/Play doesn’t connect directly to Bluetooth headsets. Instead, the Bluetooth headset needs to pair with your smartphone first.
Here’s how it works:
Pair Your Bluetooth Headset with Your Smartphone: Connect the headset to your phone, which will transmit audio through CarPlay or Android Auto on your AIO-5.
Compatibility: The AIO-5 is compatible with all Bluetooth headsets as long as the headset connects to your smartphone.
Note: Only one headset can be connected to the AIO-5 Lite/Play at a time.

Understanding Audio Playback on the AIO-5 Lite & AIO-5 Play
Does the AIO-5 Support Built-in Speakers or Music Storage?
The AIO-5 is not equipped with built-in speakers, music storage, or direct playback from SD cards. Audio playback is strictly through your smartphone’s Bluetooth-connected device (e.g., your headset).
Audio Options for AIO-5 Lite/Play:
Mirroring Audio Apps via CarPlay or Android Auto: Use your smartphone’s audio apps like Spotify or Apple Music through CarPlay or Android Auto. Audio will be routed through your phone’s connected Bluetooth device.
Alternative Speaker Solutions: Some riders may choose to use external speakers with additional accessories. However, please note that Chigee does not officially support such setups. We recommend using our products as designed for optimal performance and reliability.

Using Voice Control on CarPlay and Android Auto
Voice Control for CarPlay Users: With CarPlay, the AIO-5 seamlessly integrates voice command features. You can use Siri to navigate or control audio without taking your hands off the handlebars.
Voice Control Limitations on Android Auto: Unfortunately, Android Auto doesn’t support voice control through Bluetooth headsets due to the system’s Wi-Fi-based voice command routing. As a result:
- The AIO-5 Lite/Play uses its built-in microphone (located at the bottom of the device) for voice commands.
- Due to road noise, the microphone may struggle to pick up commands effectively while riding.
Future Updates: Chigee is actively collaborating with the Android Auto team to address this limitation, and we hope to offer a solution in future updates.

Switching to BT Bluetooth Mode (for Non-CarPlay/Android Auto Audio Playback)
What Is BT Bluetooth Mode?
The AIO-5 Lite includes a “BT Bluetooth Mode,” which allows you to connect to the AIO-5 directly without using CarPlay or Android Auto.
This mode enables you to control your phone’s music playback through the AIO-5 Lite.
How to Activate BT Bluetooth Mode:
- Disconnect Your Phone from CarPlay or Android Auto: Disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your phone if connected to CarPlay or Android Auto.
- Switch the AIO-5 Lite to Bluetooth Mode: Toggle the AIO-5 Lite to BT mode.
- Reconnect Your Phone’s Bluetooth: Enable Bluetooth on your phone and connect to the AIO-5 Lite in BT mode.
With these steps, you’ll be set up to control music playback directly via the AIO-5 Lite while audio is streamed through your Bluetooth headset or helmet.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why Can’t My AIO-5 Play Music Through Built-In Speakers or Store Music Locally? The AIO-5 is designed to mirror content from your phone and does not support built-in speakers, music storage, or playback from SD cards. It relies on your smartphone’s connection for audio functionality.
Can I Use My Voice Assistant While Riding with Android Auto?
For safety and system limitations, Android Auto voice control cannot be channeled through Bluetooth headsets while riding. While Google Assistant might work when stationary, wind and engine noise may disrupt microphone pickup while riding.
Why Doesn’t My AIO-5 Connect Directly to My Bluetooth Headset?
The AIO-5 mirrors audio from your smartphone, so it does not establish a direct Bluetooth connection with headsets. Pairing your headset with your smartphone is essential for audio playback through the AIO-5.
